Nicky's  straw bale house in Mansfield. My first major straw bale building project for someone else back in the olden days. A beautiful site on the Broken River, it was quite steep and the house had a split level with the advantage of clerestory-type windows providing northern sun to the rear section of the house. The curved roof was almost an afterthought and I am glad we did it.

The house below, also at Mansfield, shows intelligent use of rammed earth walls internally (which provide huge thermal mass for a moderated internal temperature) with straw bale external walls. Note the very large radius reveal on the window. Though big radii are much favoured in certain circles (boom boom), sharper corners are quite serviceable in normal living conditions.
